COLT Railroad Trail: College to Brown Station Park (3.5 miles)

Map of proposed trails

The COLT Railroad Trail holds the greatest potential for connectivity and equitable trail access of any trail in the Parks & Recreation Trails Master Plan.

  • Connects Wards 1, 2, and 3; primarily serves Wards 2 and 3, which currently have poor trail access
  • Connects northern and central neighborhoods to major job centers, including downtown Columbia and the Paris Road manufacturing corridor (e.g., Quaker, Mid-City Lumber, Midwest Block and Brick, Tractor Supply)
  • Connects Wards 1 and 4 to Northeast Regional Park (fairgrounds) (assuming Bear Creek Trail is also completed)
  • Significant safety improvement for people walking or biking along Paris Road
  • Single ownership corridor
  • Bridges are already in place
  • Potential for Rails-to-Trails funding
