October Bike to School Day saw students biking to school with instruments safely strapped to their bikes.
We recently learned from the Columbia Public Schools Board of Education that the Walking School Bus contract proposal we submitted is no longer under consideration. Unfortunately this means we will not be coordinating a Walking School Bus program in Columbia this year.
This year we received funding from MoDOT to operate three programs to promote and encourage active transportation, particularly, in school-age children. The three programs are Bike Brigade, Safe Routes to Bus Stops, and Workshops.
Unfortunately, there will be no Walking School Bus this fall.
PedNet Coalition and the Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services will be presenting the findings of a Health Impact Assessment (HIA) regarding Columbia Public Transit on two occasions.
