Sudwerk Brewing Co has been crafting the highest quality craft lagers in Davis, CA since 1989. Sudwerk ownership includes two University of Missouri – Columbia alumni, two Missouri S&T- Rolla alumni, and three others from the St. Louis area.
To say that all things bicycles are in Sudwerk’s roots might be an understatement. Since biking holds such significance to the brewery, a partnership with Columbia, Missouri-based PedNet Coalition just made sense.
After three years of working together, PedNet and Sudwerk have decided to create a beer together to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the Katy Trail. “Hindman Junction” is the intersection of Missouri’s statewide Katy Trail with the MKT Trail. PedNet’s founders and early partners were heavily involved in advocating for both trails, with no one having more impact than Darwin Hindman, the junction’s namesake. Named the “Father of the Katy Trail,” Darwin led the advocacy and fundraising campaign that resulted in the creation of the 240-mile trail, and later served as mayor of Columbia for 15 years. Darwin passed away in 2019.
“Hindman Junction” Session IPL is a hop-forward, aromatic IPL that is as unique as the place it is inspired by. It is crisp, dry, and clean. Hindman Junction Session IPL is the perfect beer for sitting outside on the patio and soaking in all of life’s simple moments.
Sudwerk/PedNet “Hindman Junction” Session IPL will be released on July 2nd through N.H. Scheppers Distributing Co. in Columbia and Jefferson City, through ShowMe Beverage in the greater St. Louis area, Missouri Eagle in Lake of the Ozarks, Nauser Beverage and Lloyd Distributing in Northeast Missouri. Portions of proceeds from all draft and package sales will be donated to PedNet.
