PedNet Consulting is providing training and technical assistance to communities across the state of Missouri on how to write, pass, and implement Livable Streets Policies. Livable Streets, also known as Complete Streets, is an initiative to ensure people of all ages and all abilities can safely and easily travel to school, doctor’s appointments, local businesses, and more, whether they’re driving, walking, biking or in a wheelchair.
So far, 30 Livable Streets policies have successfully been implemented across Missouri in rural communities, large cities, and diverse counties. For many communities it’s a way to attract and keep young residents who increasingly prefer communities that are easy to get around and promote interaction between residents and local businesses. In addition, Livable Streets policies have been shown to benefit:
- Communities’ economic development from private investment,
- Local businesses when they see more customers,
- Homeowners when their property values increase.
PedNet is offering the opportunity to bring those benefits to your community.
To learn more about this opportunity, register for one of two free webinars offered by PedNet. Identical informational webinars will be held on the following dates:
- Wednesday August 31th at 2:00pm
- Thursday, Sept 1st at 9:00am
