Health Impact Assessment: Transit Utility Fee

PedNet Coalition and the Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services will be presenting the findings of a Health Impact Assessment (HIA) regarding Columbia Public Transit on two occasionsHIA written in green.

PedNet Coalition, Central Missouri Community Action, and the Columbia-Boone County Department of Health and Human Services have partnered to conduct two HIAs regarding transit. The first HIA focused on transit expansion, which was found to have potentially positive health effects for Columbia residents.

At the request of Council, the second HIA was conducted to determine the potential health effects of a specific funding mechanism – a utility fee – on low- and fixed-income families.

The findings of the second HIA will be presented as follows:
