October is International Walk to School Month. Several Columbia public and
private schools took part in celebrations throughout the month.
The purpose of Walk to School Days are to encourage children and adults to incorporate more walking into their daily routine. They also highlight the need for communities to be more walkable with better infrastructure and safer routes to school for children.
