- What is Earn A Bike?
-
Earn A Bike is just what it says! PedNet, in partnership with Walt’s Bike Shop, helps local kids earn a bike by learning the fundamentals of bike safety and maintenance. In order to get a free bike, kids have to complete two two hour sessions in which they learn how to fix minor bike problems and get a little road safety lesson to boot. - Who can participate?
- Any kid between the ages of 11 and 14 is eligible to take part. A helmet and a willingness to learn are all that is needed.
- What are the benefits?
- Kids are taught how to take care of a bike so that it is always safe to ride and will last for years. They also learn a bit about bike safety.

I want to just send out one last thank you for the wonderful experience of allowing my son to earn a bike! Malik really had a great time and is extremely proud of his bike! He said he learned so much and it sparked a new interest of mechanics …” –Sarah Ludeman (Malik Baskett's mom)
