Peckham & Wright Architects

PWA logoPeckham & Wright Architects strive to provide sustainable design services for its clients in Missouri and beyond while working in a pedestrian friendly environment. Not only does PWA support the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), the company also encourages its employees to use active transportation to and from work.

The architecture, planning and design group was formed by Nick Peckham and Brad Wright in 1978. Today, PWA continues to offer sustainable design services to a wide variety of education, corporate, healthcare, government and private clients throughout the United States and abroad.

“At PWA, we strive to incorporate sustainable design into all of our projects,” Suzanne Wright said. “Working closely with clients creates opportunities to trim utility costs, reduce energy usage, conserve water, minimize waste and promote the heath and satisfaction of a building’s users and visitors.”

Past projects include the LEED Gold certified Eco Schoolhouse at Grant Elementary and Columbia Fire Station No. 9. Current projects include the new Father Tolton Regional Catholic High School, the Missouri Department of Conservation Regional Offices in Columbia and high school gymnasium projects for Columbia Public Schools. These sustainable designs increase value, productivity and efficiency while reducing the environmental impact of architecture.

Being a bike and pedestrian friendly business fits in well with their philosophy. PWA offers shower facilities, changing areas and storage inside the office for bikes and gear. Located at 15 S. Tenth Street, PWA’s ground floor office is bike and pedestrian accessible. An errand bike also sits in the front window so that it can be easily seen by anyone who enters the building.
