Promotion of Healthy Lifestyles and a Healthy Community
The PedNet Coalition seeks three high-performing individuals for full-time, benefits-eligible positions. Successful candidates will have exceptional communication skills, the capacity to manage multiple projects with attention to detail, and a personal commitment to PedNet’s vision.
The PedNet Coalition is a grassroots, non-profit organization, which was founded in 2000 with a vision for Columbia of a healthy and active community. PedNet works closely with the Columbia/Boone Co. Dept. of Public Health and Human Services and the citywide Healthy Community Partnership to achieve this goal through programmatic and policy advocacy initiatives.
- Safe Routes to School Coordinator
- Safe Routes to School Coordinator ($32,000 - $38,000) will manage PedNet’s national-model Walking School Bus program, Walk-to-School Day special events, and related activities. Primary duties are to promote walking to school; to coordinate program outreach and implementation with local public and private schools; to recruit, train and coordinate community volunteers; to supervise and coordinate program assistants and interns; to represent PedNet on Missouri’s Safe Routes to School State Advocacy Network committee; and to assist in PedNet’s consulting and training activities. - Director of Healthy Community Initiatives
- Director of Healthy Community Initiatives ($42,000 - $48,000) will direct three grant-funded projects designed to create a healthy community environment in underserved areas of Columbia. Primary duties are to oversee implementation of a comprehensive work plan of programmatic and policy advocacy initiatives; to maintain excellent communications with a diverse partnership of stakeholders including community leaders, health and children’s advocates, non-profit and business leaders, school administrators, academic researchers, city staff, and elected officials; and to communicate effectively the purpose and strategy of these initiatives to the whole community. - Assistant Director of Healthy Community Initiatives
- Assistant Director of Healthy Community Initiatives ($37,000 - $43,000) will assist the Director of Healthy Community Initiatives in the management of three grant-funded projects. Primary duties are to maintain and monitor progress against the work plan of programmatic and policy advocacy initiatives; to plan and implement specific community programs and policy campaigns in collaboration with institutional and community-based partners; to develop project reports for federal and foundation funding agencies; and to supervise and coordinate program assistants, interns, and community volunteers.
