BEHIND THE SCENES
AT A SOCIAL MARKETING PHOTO SHOOT

March, 2007



The Columbia/Boone County Health Department (CBCHD) and the PedNet Coalition have developed a number of social marketing campaigns over recent years. This spring's series of four posters/newspaper ads and two radio promotions feature some well-known Columbians.

Above, KFRU's Fred Parry and Simon Rose practice riding a tandem for a shoot to promote Bike, Walk, and Wheel Week - for which they are this year's Honorary Chairs. The final picture (which will be seen around Columbia in April and May) shows Simon in front, pedalling hard, while Fred takes it easy on the back seat.

Below left, CBCHD's Stacia Reilly briefs dog owners on the photo shoot before capturing pictures of Mayor Darwin Hindman and his wife, Axie, taking a "leisurely" stroll on the trail with eight dogs!

The other two pictures in the series will show a Walking School Bus team crossing the street in a physical Walking School Bus, and a row of babies enjoying eating fruit - their faces plastered with berry juice!
