At the August 16th annual Active Living Partnership meeting, several partnership members received awards for their work in promoting active living in Columbia.

| Stephanie Browning, Director of the Columbia/Boone County Health Department, was named "Active Living Person of the Year" for her support of Columbia's Active Living by Design project through social marketing, support for the Walking School Bus program, and acquisition of additional grants promoting active living. | Dr. Jack Jensen, Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Education with Columbia Public Schools, received his "Active Living Award" for generating institutional support for the Walking School Bus, Passport to Fitness, and other programs that encourage children to adopt healthy, active lifestyles. |

| Tery Donelson, chair of the Mayor's Council on Physical Fitness and Health, has energized the Council's Fitness Forums and increased their support and participation in the Passport to Fitness, YouZeum Bike Ramble, and other events. | Gary Ristow, of the Columbia Parks and Recreation Department, was honored for providing support and sponsorship for the Active Living by Design project since its launch in 2003. |

| Lorah Steiner, Executive Director of the Columbia Convention and Visitors' Bureau, received her "Active Living Award" for promoting active living and providing substantial sponsorship for Bike, Walk, and Wheel Week. | Walt's Bicycle, Fitness, and Wilderness Company and manager Sarah Ashman were recognized with an "Active Living Award" for their true partnership spirit and essential support for PedNet's Bicycle Education program. |
