Partnership Development for Active Living
Creating the broadest possible Active Living Partnership will ensure strong support for community programs and minimize opposition to policy change.
A community in which residents walk
or ride bicycles for short journeys
enjoys health, environmental,
quality-of-life, and economic benefits
at both the individual and societal
level. Almost every institution has
something to gain from getting behind
this movement - your challenge is to
engage each partner with an effective
message.
Partnership development consulting services range from a 3-hour workshop to a 6-month program of technical assistance. All will help you:
- Identify key stakeholders;
- Engage the right individual within each partner agency;
- Develop tailored communications and messaging;
- Coordinate a sustainable Active Living Partnership.
“PedNet’s ability to engage the public health sector and their leadership in Columbia’s Active Living Partnership have been critical to our healthy community successes.”
–Stephanie Browning, Director, Columbia/Boone Co. Health Dept.
In 2003, the PedNet Coalition and the Columbia/Boone County Health Department formed Columbia’s Active Living Partnership. This diverse group now comprises more than eighty agencies from City government, public housing, public education, the University of Missouri, economic development, local business, community-based non-profits, and faith organizations. United by a common vision of a healthy, active community, this is a powerful force for change.
