Robert launched PedNet's bicycle education program in 2005. In the first five years, more than 500 adults and children completed League-Certified courses; the Columbia Police Department became an advocate for safe, legal cycling; and Columbia won a silver-level Bicycle Friendly Community award.

During his 30-year career in transportation planning for local governments and MPOs, John has completed projects in street design, traffic impact analysis, land use planning, and access management. Highly experienced with TransCAD and ARCInfo, John is currently the GIS Coordinator for the City of Columbia.

Former Mayor Darwin Hindman, JD

Former Mayor Darwin HindmanCity of Columbia, Missouri
Darwin is a lifelong campaigner for walkable/bikeable communities, who spearheaded the effort to create the Katy Trail, one of the first rails-to-trails conversions. In five terms as mayor, he established the annual Bike, Walk, and Wheel Week and brought a $22 million Non-Motorized Transportation federal grant to Columbia.

Stacia Reilly, MEd

Stacia’s public health career has focused on school health, obesity prevention, and social marketing. She collaborates with PedNet and delivers trainings on partnership development, Safe Routes to School, and working with public health/government leaders.

Mike Snyder, BS

Mike SnyderColumbia Parks and Recreation
A Board Member with the Missouri Parks and Recreation Association, Mike has extensive experience in landscape architecture, trail and greenway design, and parks master planning. Proficient in ArcMap GIS and CAD design software, Mike has overseen the City of Columbia’s growing trail network as Senior Parks Planner for the last 11 years.

Ian Thomas, PhD

Ian Thomas Executive Director
After co-founding the PedNet Coalition in April, 2000, Ian led a successful campaign to amend Columbia’s street design standards to include pedestrian, bicycle and wheelchair facilities. Ian is a member of the Safe Routes to School National Partnership Steering Committee and is on the board of America Walks.
