Active living is a way of life that integrates physical activity into daily routines.
You are engaged in active living when you:
- walk to the grocery store
- ride your bike to the library
- take the stairs instead of the elevator
- park once and walk to several stores
- walk your kids to school
- meet a friend for a run on the trail
- swim some laps at the ARC
- park in the farthest parking space in the lot
- attend an aerobics class
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that adults achieve at least 30 minutes of active living each day.
