Active Living: How to do it

man cycling on trailActive living is a way of life that integrates physical activity into daily routines.

You are engaged in active living when you:

  • walk to the grocery store
  • ride your bike to the library
  • take the stairs instead of the elevator
  • park once and walk to several stores
  • walk your kids to school
  • meet a friend for a run on the trail
  • swim some laps at the ARC
  • park in the farthest parking space in the lot
  • attend an aerobics class

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that adults achieve at least 30 minutes of active living each day.
